Niagara Falls Wedding Photographer
Natural, emotional wedding photography in Niagara Falls, Ontario
Your wedding day should feel like your wedding day, not like a day spent constantly posing for photographs.
I'm Tang Photography, a Niagara wedding photographer serving couples getting married throughout Niagara Falls and the surrounding Niagara region. My approach combines natural, candid moments with guided portraits so that you can have beautiful photographs without feeling like you're spending the entire day in front of a camera.
Whether you're planning a large Fallsview wedding, an intimate ceremony, an elopement, or an engagement session, Niagara Falls gives us an incredible variety of backdrops.
Wedding photography collections start at $1,500
Photographing weddings in Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is one of those places where you can create dramatically different photographs within a relatively small area. You can have the Falls in the background for one photograph, walk into a quiet garden for the next, and finish with intimate portraits surrounded by greenery.
That variety is one of the reasons I love photographing couples in Niagara Falls.
For portraits, I like to think beyond simply standing at the most obvious viewpoint. The Falls themselves are spectacular, but the surrounding gardens, paths, bridges and quieter spaces can give your gallery much more variety.
My favourite Niagara Falls photo locations
Oakes Garden Theatre
Oakes Garden Theatre is one of the most distinctive portrait locations in the Niagara Falls area. Its curved pergola, formal gardens, lily ponds and Japanese-style garden create a softer, more romantic environment than the dramatic Falls viewpoints.
It can be especially beautiful for couples who want some architectural and garden photographs in addition to their iconic Niagara Falls portraits.
Niagara Parks describes Oakes Garden Theatre as a wedding ceremony location overlooking Niagara Falls, with formalized gardens and lily ponds surrounding the theatre.
Dufferin Islands
If you want something quieter and more natural, Dufferin Islands is a completely different look.
The area is made up of small islands connected by bridges and footpaths, with ponds, trees and greenery throughout. It can be a great choice for couples who want photographs that feel relaxed and intimate rather than heavily tourist-oriented.
Niagara Parks lists Dufferin Islands as one of its wedding ceremony locations.
Queen Victoria Park
For the classic Niagara Falls photograph, Queen Victoria Park is hard to beat.
The park provides broad views toward the American Falls and Canadian Horseshoe Falls, allowing us to create the iconic Niagara image that immediately tells you where your wedding took place.
I would use this location for a few signature portraits rather than making your entire portrait session about the Falls.
Niagara Parkway
The Niagara Parkway gives us another way to incorporate the landscape into your photographs. Depending on your timeline, we can use portions of the Parkway and surrounding Niagara Parks landscape to create photographs with more movement, greenery and environmental context.
Table Rock and the Falls viewpoints
If having the Falls prominently in your wedding gallery is important to you, we can incorporate the viewpoints around Table Rock and the Horseshoe Falls.
Because these are extremely popular areas, timing matters. A little planning can make the difference between a beautiful portrait and a photograph surrounded by crowds.
Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens
For couples who prefer gardens over crowds, the Botanical Gardens provide another option for portraits and wedding photography. Niagara Parks also offers ceremony sites in the gardens, including Willow Pond and the Wedding Arbour.
Niagara Falls wedding venues
Niagara Falls has everything from large hotels to intimate outdoor ceremony sites.
Some venues and wedding properties couples may want to consider include:
Niagara Parks Weddings
Oakes Garden Theatre
Dufferin Islands
Butterfly Conservatory
Queenston Heights
Sheraton Fallsview Hotel
Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa
Niagara Falls Marriott on the Falls
Club Italia Event Centre
Lundy Manor Wine Cellars
other Fallsview hotels and Niagara Parks properties
Niagara Parks currently offers a range of wedding locations including Dufferin Islands, Oakes Garden Theatre, the Butterfly Conservatory, Willow Pond, Queenston Chapel, Mather Arch and other sites throughout the Niagara corridor.
Engagement photography in Niagara Falls
You don't have to be getting married in Niagara Falls to have your engagement photographs here.
An engagement session can be a great opportunity to explore some of the quieter locations around the Falls while getting comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day.
If you're nervous about posing, that's completely okay. One of my goals is to give you enough direction that you know what to do without making the photographs feel stiff or overly posed.
Your Niagara Falls wedding photography experience
I photograph weddings with a balance of direction and observation.
I'll help you when you need help, especially during portraits, but I also want to leave room for the moments that happen naturally.
The laugh that wasn't planned.
The parent wiping away a tear.
The quiet moment between the two of you when nobody else is paying attention.
Those photographs are just as important to me as the big portrait with Niagara Falls behind you.
